Power Delivery Engineer II

Maintain reliability records and analyze data to prepare reports on performance of transmission providers.  Perform field inspections and develop system improvement plans to improve delivery reliability.

Assist member cooperatives in the preparation of contracts and technical documents necessary for the interconnection of renewable generation facilities.  Interact with developers, regulatory agencies, and technical personnel to support projects through their completion.

Develop system application and supporting documentation of new delivery points to meet transmission service provider’s requirements.  Analyze transmission and wholesale rates and assess company arrangements to maximize value received from transmission services.

Assist in the preparation of pole attachment rate revisions and provide contractual support for member cooperatives and attaching utilities.

Qualifications Summary:

Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in electric utility industry.  Professional engineering certification or Engineer-In-Training certification is preferred.  Knowledge of electrical engineering principles is required.  Knowledge of electric transmission and distribution system design and operation is required.

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in electrical engineering, is required.  Coursework in electric power transmission, distribution, commercial and industrial power is preferred.

The successful candidate must have the ability to convert technical data into written reports. He/She must be able to work well under pressure and must have the ability to meet production deadlines.  Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential to this position.

Accounting Summer Intern

Buckeye Power, Inc. and Ohio Rural Electric Cooperatives, Inc. are looking for an Accounting Student Intern for the summer of 2015. Preference will be given to candidates in their sophomore, junior or senior year in college.

The student filling this paid internship position will be responsible for a wide range of duties.

Responsibilities include:
Assist with accounts receivable, payable duties.
Assist with records retention projects.
Prepare financial analysis on specific projects.
Assist with financial reporting.

Candidates should be an Accounting major with sophomore, junior or senior year academic status.
Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and excellent communications skills are all essential to this position.
GPA of 3.0 or better preferred.
