Buckeye Power, Inc., a not-for-profit Columbus-based company which provides electric utility generation and transmission services throughout Ohio, is in search of a dynamic individual for the position of Marketing Director.

Position Objective:
The Marketing Director is responsible for developing and implementing energy efficiency and economic development marketing strategies and programs for Buckeye Power, Inc. and the rural electric distribution cooperatives in Ohio.

• Provide marketing consultative and support services to Ohio member cooperatives on a range of energy-related strategies and initiatives focused on energy efficiency incentive programs, customer attitudes and satisfaction.
• Oversee and direct economic development marketing plans, projects, operating policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:
• Marketing work experience within the electric utility environment required (Non-profit cooperative/municipal or for-profit investor-owned).
• Work history must reflect demonstrated knowledge of economic development and marketing principles using market research tools, strategies and techniques within the energy or electric utility industry.
• College degree required with academic focus in Business Administration, Marketing or other related field preferred.  Advanced degree in Business, Marketing or Market Research desired.
• Management experience in the utility or energy-related fields strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, advertising or public relations fields.  Prior experience in management of marketing campaigns, programs is highly desirable.
• Travel (25%) in and outside of Ohio is required and may include overnight stays.

Project Manager, Power Generation/Performance Management

Buckeye Power, Inc., a not-for-profit Columbus based company which provides electric utility generation and transmission services throughout Ohio, is in search of a dynamic candidate for the position of Power Generation Performance Management Project Manager.

Position Objective:
Ensures the competitive position of Buckeye Power, Inc., owned generation resources through optimization of production costs.

• Works with groups and individuals outside of Buckeye Power to help establish, optimize and achieve key power plant performance metrics.
• Develops and maintains appropriate monitoring metrics of key performance indicators for Buckeye Power’s generation resources.
• Evaluates operations and maintenance practices to determine their adequacy and identify potential cost savings measures.
• Represents the company in the development, execution and administration of fuel/consumable supply and transportation contracts as well as combustion byproduct disposal contracts.
• Assists in the planning of optimal plant environmental control performance.

Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 to 15 years of progressively responsible experience in the electric utility industry.
• Experience with project management, contract administration and asset management is preferred.
• Knowledge of fossil-fuel power plant engineering processes, equipment and economics.
• Knowledge in negotiation and administration of commercial contracts.
• Travel is required, primarily within Ohio, may include overnight stays. Frequent travel to Ohio power generation plants.

Project Superintendent
Guernsey-Muskingum Electric Cooperative

Responsible for budgeting, scheduling, and directing activities of contract maintenance crews and enforcing contract terms. Inspects contract work. Investigates consumer complaints and initiates corrective action. Requires a high school diploma or the equivalent. Technical degree in power utilities, electrical engineering, construction management or related field preferred. Must have 5 years of progressively responsible experience in utility system operations. Completion of training programs on electrical distribution and substations beneficial. Must be skilled at managing people and projects. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Must be familiar with Rural Utilities Services (RUS) construction specifications, National Electric Safety Code and possess knowledge of regulatory and safety requirements related to the construction, operation and maintenance of utility plant.

Must have ability to become familiar with species of trees and application of herbicides. Familiarity with line construction equipment and right-of-way clearing equipment preferred. Must have ability communicate verbally and in writing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software desirable. Reading, writing and math skills required. Must hold valid Ohio driver’s license, CDL preferred. Candidate must be willing to work outside under various weather conditions. Employees in this position are required to reside within a 30-minute response time to the cooperative’s office in New Concord and must quickly respond for dispatching and supervision duties after-hours on a scheduled basis or during emergency conditions.
